This week is all about prepping for family and food, so some of the weekly events below are likely a no-go. I’m glad to be slowing down a little so I can catch up on all the fun in our community. A 15-hour train ride out east will help. What fun will you find?

Thursday, November 24 – Turkey Day!

I invite you to take a minute to write down what you’re grateful for. Get beyond a simple “family” or “friends” or “home.” What is it about the people you are in community with that is shaping you? How does your home define you or enrich your life? I am grateful that I live with an incredibly progressive activist in this particular season of rancor and anxiety and (for me) awful anticipation, because she has pushed me to take action and respond rather than curl up on the couch. I’m grateful that the HPC just approved a project at my 95-year-old house, because this beast is expensive to maintain, but I love growing into it with each project. I’m grateful that I had last weekend to connect with my family and cook / laugh / tech together; I’m grateful that I can be fully myself with them, because I know that was not true for either of my parents. Thank goodness for a day of gratitude!
